Day 1: Paro (2280m)

Overnight in Paro.

Our guide will welcome you at the Paro International Airport. After checking in at the hotel and having lunch, you get the first taste of Bhutanese art, architecture and culture when our guide shows you the Paro Dzong and the Ta Dzong. The dzong is perhaps the most visibly striking architectural aspect of the kingdom. It was constructed originally as a fortress. But today, the dzong is the administrative and religious centre of the dzongkhag (or district) in Bhutan. You will also visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, which was destroyed by fire caused by a butter lamp in 1951. You will also visit one of Bhutan's oldest and most beautiful temples - Kyichu Lhakhang. Here you will experience the peace and serenity amid fresh crisp mountain air.
